Bearberry Creek Water Gardens is now entering its 27th year of growing aquatic plants for northern ponds. Our nursery is located in Alberta’s beautiful Rocky Mountain foothills (horticultural zone 2, 4000 ft. elevation). All of our hardy plants are grown outdoors and have been selected for their ability to survive in our short cool growing season. Plants in our catalogue are listed as native or non-native to Alberta. Winter hardiness is also indicated.
We offer both container grown and bare-root water plants from May 15th through to September, with our peak season being June through July. Mail order plants are generally shipped bare-root in order to reduce shipping costs. Pond supplies can be shipped year round.
For those seeking wetland plants for wetland restoration, wildlife enhancement, water treatment, bio-filtration, or other aquatic projects we provide bare-root root/shoot pieces, cuttings, and tubers. These propagation units are cleaned and sorted into bundles of 10, 100 or 1000. They are compact, economical to ship, and easy to plant on site.
